CBLF 8th Executive Roundtable

CBLF 8^th Executive Roundtable was successfully held on March 30, 2007 at Renmin University of China. The conference was cochaired by Mr. Peter Brew, the Director of Corporate Practices, IBLF, Prof. Dong Keyong, Dean of School of Public Administration, Renmin University of China, and Prof. Yi Zhihong, Dean of School of Public Administration, Renmin University of China. Mr. Liu Dawei, Chief Financial Officer of China Development Bank (CDB) introduced the experience of CDB in establishing the Credit System of the Infrastructure Financing. Mr. Cai Meng, Operations Manager of United Nations Development Program China Office reviewed the principals, modality of UN Procurement all over the world and the opportunities for Chinese companies. Mr. Zhou Mingde, Chairman of Beijing Phoenix City Developer talked about the conditions and challenges that Chinese developers are facing in the tendering and procurement while Gilbert Van Kerckhove, Chairperson, Public Procurement Working Group, European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, and Managing Director & Founder, Beijing Global Strategy Consulting Co. Ltd reviewed the issues and challenges on tendering & procurement faced by foreign companies operating in China. After these presentations, Mr. Peter Brew, Prof. Dong Keyong and Prof. Yi Zhihong gave short comments. The participants from British Embassy, BHP Billiton, Pricewarterhouse&Coopers, China Minsheng Bank, Singapore Moways, and so on also exchanged their experiences and ideas in the field of tendering and procurement.
